How Are Littoral Rights Different than Riparian Rights?

These two types of rights are extremely similar, but there is one significant distinction.

Littoral rights are given to owners of property that share boundaries with non flowing bodies of water such as lakes, seas or oceans.

Riparian rights are rights attributed to the owner of property along flowing bodies of water such as streams and rivers.
