Terrie O’Connor founded Terrie O’Connor Realtors in 1991, following a successful career of real estate sales, marketing and management. Terrie O’Connor began her real estate career in 1981. She is currently the Broker-Owner of Terrie O’Connor Realtors, as well as the Director of the Terrie O’Connor Realtors Real Estate School which proudly opened its doors in the summer of 2012.  Terrie is thrilled to have made this dream a reality, and offers insight into how our real estate school came to be:

 

“After working many years in the real estate business, one of my great joys has been working with new agents to help them develop their own careers.  The real estate industry is one of the few really entrepreneurial fields still available today. Salespeople can work to develop their client business over time, growing their business exponentially.  Many people chose real estate as a career for many different reasons, perhaps because they are looking for a change from the  large corporate environment, or they may be looking to be more independent and in control of their own destiny with more flexibility.

 

These are some of the very reasons I personally got my real estate license 31 years ago as a young mother living in Upper Saddle River with my husband and four small children.  We needed additional income and I wanted to be able to work in an environment that I was not only passionate about but one that would give me the flexibility I needed to care for my children and yet afford the opportunity to earn enough money to make rejoining the work force worthwhile.

 

As a result of my personal experience, I found becoming a Realtor both personally and financially rewarding.  I have had the opportunity to make many interesting friends both locally and internationally, and I have had the wonderful opportunity as well to work with many of my outstanding colleagues at Terrie O’Connor Realtors.

 

One of the questions I am often asked by people considering getting their real estate license is that they already know too many people in the real estate business so why should they get their real estate license?  I have a simple answer. The cream always rises to the top. The best people will be real estate professionals that our consumers choose to work with.  There is always room at the top for talented new people who are dedicated to learning how to provide the best real estate services to their clients.

 

After the New Jersey Real Estate Commission approved and licensed our new Terrie O’Connor Realtors Real Estate School located in nearby Ramsey, we began our first real estate pre-licensing salesperson class on July 16, 2012.  The school allows us to provide our students with all the requirements and education to get their New Jersey Real Estate Salesperson License, or their New Jersey Real Estate Broker License. Because education and training have always been paramount to me and the agents who work at our company, this was a natural outgrowth of our culture.
